Funeral Sliders

Although I have made these sliders for funerals, I am not sure where the name of these came from, because you can enjoy them anytime. They are pretty easy to make. I have made them for baby and bridal showers due to the versatility of these sliders. I do have to say, be careful when cutting the rolls in half. It takes practice; I  seemed to do it unevenly until I got the hang of it.

Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 small yellow onion, minced (about heaping 1/2 cup)
1 Tbsp. coarse-grain mustard
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 (24-oz.) pkg. Hawaiian sweet rolls (such as King’s Hawaiian)
2 lb. thinly sliced ham
12 oz. Swiss or Cheddar cheese slices

Directions
Beat butter, onion, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce at medium speed with an electric mixer until blended. Cut rolls in half. Spread about 1/2 cup of the butter mixture evenly over each of the bottom halves. Top with ham and cheese.  Top with the remaining halves of rolls. Lightly spread the butter mixture over the top half of the rolls. Bake at 350°F until tops are golden and cheese is melted, about 15 minutes.

Peace be with you,
Veronica
